Home Surveys Protected Species Surveys Badgers

The Protection of Badgers Act 1992 makes it an offence for a person to interfere with an occupied badger sett.

As such, any activity that is likely to cause interference (such as damaging a sett tunnel or chamber or obstructing access to a sett entrance) will need to be licensed by Natural England.

Here at J.L Ecology Ltd, we have extensive experience in carrying out surveys for Badgers to establish their presence/absence

Our former clients include: -

DEFRA

Devon County Council

• Private landowners

Once the initial survey is complete we can provide advice on how to proceed without committing an offence, and prepare and submit a mitigation license if necessary.
